Imogen Alexander - Hong Kong
My name is Imogen Alexander. I am Australian but just moved to Hong Kong. I lived in Tanzania before. In Tanzania I became a Wildlife Warrior because there are a lot of animals that are endangered because of poaching, farming and grazing cattle. Also, some people kill animals like the harmless green tree snake because they are scared. People in Tanzania need education about animals and poachers need to be punished. We should not buy animal skins or ivory from elephant tusks.
In Hong Kong I found out that some animals are endangered here too. The giant panda and red panda are losing their habitat and some sea creatures are endangered because of pollution. I learnt that from Ocean Park which is here in Hong Kong.
I went to Steve Irwin Day last year and I learnt more about being a Wildlife Warrior, especially that we should try to protect the whales like the Sea Shepherd people.
Autumn Minarchin - Arizona, USA
My name is Autumn Minarchin. I'm a 7th grader at Desert Ridge Junior High School in Mesa, AZ (Arizona). My goals are to do everything I can to protect animals, save their habitats, and take care of the Earth. These are my goals because I am into camping, hiking, fishing, and just being outside to enjoy nature.
My dad and I have watched the Crocodile Hunter for years. It has always been one of my favorite TV shows. We miss Steve-o. I recently did a History Fair project on Wildlife Warriors, to spread the word of conservation. For two years now I have owned a Leopard Gecko named Jack. I am looking forward to becoming a Joey Ambassador.
Crocs (and Leopard Geckos) Rule!!
Ben & Renee Haywood - New Zealand
Hi, my name is Ben and my sisters name is Renee. I am 9. We have 11 pets, 5 chickens, 5 fish and a dog called Kobe, she is a girl. Plus every September we foster little lambs. Last year our lambs were called Bindi and Bob, weird huh! On Steve Irwin Day 2008 we raised $800. 130 people came to our camp-out and there were 16 tents and this year we hope it will be bigger! We've got the Port-a-loo's organised already. I play the drums and the electric guitar.
My favourite movie is Underdog, I also like other movies with animals BUT... I don't like movies with animals getting killed with guns and stuff. I have never left New Zealand but I've been on a plane to Nelson and back when I was 6 months old. I play soccer, touch rugby and I'm going to start karate soon. I also do 'Drama'. Anyway, thank you for reading my letter.
From Ben Haywood
Hi, my name is Renee. My brother is Ben. I have 5 fish and 1 dog and 5 chickens. I am a girl. Ben is 9 and I am 6. I live in New Zealand. My Mum and Dad are called Michelle and Brent. We got a trampoline to jump on. My friend is Debbie and Savannah. My fish are called Flash and Flish and mine is called Crystal. I love to do ballet and we're doing a show at the end of the year. I love animals. I've got lots of friends at school. I started tennis 2 weeks ago but the day after I broke my arm when I fell out of a tree at my brother's soccer game - so I don't play tennis any more.
Love from Renee Haywood
To us, being a wildlife warrior means that we need to protect animals and help conservation. We need to help animals if they're sick and make sure they have a good environment to live in. Also alot of people don't know what's in what they eat or use and some things are a threat to wildlife so we need to make sure people know about what's in their stuff. For example, our Mum wrote to Cadbury's 'cause they were using palm oil in their chocolate and they had so many letters and e-mails that they've now stopped using it so that was a good job. To help animals we also need money so we need to fund raise to keep up the good work. You have to be active to be a wildlife warrior so you have to be 'out there' so that is what we think it means to be a Wildlife Warrior.
From Ben & Renee
Eve & Ted Johnson - Princetown, Victoria, Australia
We have been Wildlife Warriors for about 4 years now. Our school is the Lavers Hill P-12 College which is in the magnificent Otway Ranges. Learning about all the animals all over the world is what we love to do best. We have a huge collection of wildlife books and DVD documentaries.
Eve's passion is Australian natives and she can't wait to be old enough to be a wildlife carer. Eve also loves doing what she can to help the environment and regularly collects rubbish from her local beach in Princetown, Victoria.
Ted's passion is crocodiles and he really wants to be a Wildlife Vet and have the chance to help save crocs one day. Ted is also an awesome wildlife artist and loves drawing reptiles most of all. We have so much fun being Wildlife Warriors and doing all the things that help conservation.
Sarah Jaeger - Launceston, Tasmania, Australia
My name is Sarah Jaeger. I am 7 years old. I am really interested in animals, and I love visiting zoos. I absolutely love visiting Australia Zoo on holidays. I went to the Australian Wildlife Hospital in June and I thought it was fantastic. When I grow up I want to be a wildlife vet, just like the vets at the wildlife hospital.
I like to help animals. I think it is important to look after our wild animals, and the places they live. I live in Launceston, in Tasmania. It is important to help our Tasmanian devils who have a facial tumour disease. I visit Tasmania Zoo in Launceston on lots of weekends to see the animals. The Zoo does a great job of looking after the devils and the other animals. I am learning to be a Wildlife Warrior.

I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. My favourite animal is the eagle and my favourite place is Australia Zoo. I have been donating my pocket money for the last three years and doing fundraisers for Wildlife Warriors. When I get older I want be a part of the Wildlife Warrior team and help with the programs that they have going.
Chloe Tsangaris - Macgregor, Queensland, Australia
Hi my name is Chloe Tsangaris and I am six years old. I go to Macgregor State Primary School in Brisbane and I am in grade one. I am really excited about being part of the Joey Ambassador program. I will be able to keep letting my friends and family know about how we can all help injured and endangered wildlife! And how all the little things that we can do to help wildlife conservation, will end up really being a big thing when we all help together. My mum has a favourite wildlife book that her Poppy used to read to her when she was little and when I was reading it with mum, I said to her... I would really like my babies to be able to see and touch the beautiful wildlife like we do and not just see them in a flat book! So we really need to look after what we have today for tomorrow too.
Did you know that when people don't put their rubbish in the bin it sometimes will blow around in the wind and end up in our waterways... And our beautiful marine life like our gorgeous turtles are eating them because plastic bags look like yummy jelly fish which makes the turtles get really sick and die which is really sad.
So please make sure you paws for thought and put your rubbish in the bin!! Thanks!! I'm looking forward to learning lots more and sharing lots more with my friends, family and lots of kids about wildlife conservation!
Suzie Magann - Hoppers Crossing, Victoria, Australia
G'day my name is Suzie I am 12 years old and I am a Wildlife Warrior. I am home schooled and in year 7. My interests are conservation and wildlife, Hannah Montana, my family, my friends and my pets which consist of my dog Molly and my two Rats Cane & Sugar.
In my spare time I go out fundraising and telling people all about the Wildlife Warriors and what they do. I strongly believe in conservation and saving our wildlife. We all know we only have one home and that is planet earth, if we do not look after it we will not have a home. The earth does not just belong to us, it belongs to the animals & creatures too! When I get older I am going to work at Australia Zoo. I believe that we humans have to work together and carry on Steve Irwin's vision for all future generations.
Isabel Dow - Gailes, Queensland, Australia
Hi I'm Isabel and I am seven years old. I am a wildlife warrior. I love all animals and Australia Zoo. I have been to the Zoo over 100 times and I have done all the animal encounters I can at the zoo. I have even met a Tiger twice - being close to animals' makes you want to save them more because you love them more. I have two pets, Bindi my dog and Tiger my blue tongue lizard. I attend Karate two nights a week and hold my green belt. I enjoy doing animal projects for school to teach them to love and protect animals.
Being a Wildlife Warrior means loving our animals and showing others how to care and protect them too. The best way to do this is by example and I do love my animals. We have a mission and I say YES!!! If you hold an animal just once you will understand why it is all worth it :)
Jacob Danko - Pennsylvania, USA
Hi, my name is Jacob. I am ten years old and I am very passionate about wildlife conservation. This is my third year participating in Steve Irwin Day fund-raising and awareness. All year long I can be found spreading the word about Steve's work, he is and always will be my hero. Wildlife Warriors has done a wonderful job continuing Steve's work and keeping his legacy alive. That's why I am THRILLED about being a Joey Ambassador this year. It is so cool!
I grew up watching Steve and Terri's shows and learned a lot from them! I enjoy exploring for wildlife and their habitats. My family and I are always visiting and exploring preserves, parks and our local zoo. This year I actually got to do my own animal rehab, I found a severely injured Box turtle and have successfully nursed it back to good health. The injuries have healed over! I call her Lucky.
Also this year, I participated in a Fish Habitat program through my local State Park and PA Fish & Boat Commission. We built and deployed 40 fish habitats in the lake. I was very proud to be a part of that. One of my of my dreams is to go to Australia Zoo one day with my family. Not only to see the animals, but to meet the workers, too. They seem like a family and love and appreciate the animals. It sounds like an amazing place, especially the animal encounters they offer!
I enjoy playing soccer, participating in my school's ecology club, participating in creek clean-ups, and taking nature classes at my local State Park. I helped in an awareness campaign for the HSUS and raised funds for my local zoo. My main goal is to spread the word about wildlife and habitat conservation. It breaks my heart to see all the land development, all the lost habitat that we won't get back. I wish I were older and had lots of money to change this. I hope to have a career in this one day. That's why I am proud to be a Joey Ambassador, this is my way to make a difference! So please make a donation today, every dollar helps! CROCS RULE!

Jimmy Barnes
Some know him as the lead vocalist of Cold Chisel, some know him as the most successful Australian rock singer, many know him as an Aussie battler and most know him as Barnesy. Now we can stick another description on him - Wildlife Warrior!
Barnesy has joined our team of Ambassadors to help raise the profile of wildlife in need. Australia Zoo has long been a favourite holiday destination of his and now he has taken his passion for wildlife to the next level. Good on ya, Barnesy!
The Veronicas
Twin sisters Jess and Lisa Origliasso are The Veronicas, and are the hottest thing in Australia right now. Since the release of their debut album "The Secret Life Of...", these young superstars have taken the Australian music industry by storm and their star is quickly rising overseas as well, seeing them feature in a US national tour with Ashlee Simpson.
Along with writing and performing their hit songs, Jess and Lisa also have a passion for wildlife, so upon visiting the Australian Wildlife Hospital during some downtime in Oz, they felt compelled to do something to help. Their involvement will help bring wildlife awareness to young people.
John Williamson
He holds to his name more great songs than is fair for one man to have written and defines the Australian character. His successful music career has spanned over 35 years. He has released 35 albums and won 23 Golden Guitars from the Country Music Awards of Australia. He is the Australian spirit and he is a Wildlife Warrior.
Over the past two years, John has made significant donations to Wildlife Warriors to help our Australian Wildlife Conservation projects, including the Australian Wildlife Hospital. This man is undoubtedly true blue. Support Wildlife Warriors Worldwide by purchasing John Williamson's new CD.
Jamie Dunn
In a previous life he was a bit of an animal himself, playing the voice of Agro on Channel 7's 'Agro's Cartoon Connection'. Now Jamie Dunn is a popular breakfast radio host on the Sunshine Coast's Zinc FM. Jamie has been an active ambassador thus far, participating in our Corporate Jungle by raising $1000 in one hour and showing off his artistic flair by contributing to our mural at the official launch of Wildlife Warriors at Australia Zoo in April.
Zinc FM are also supporters of Wildlife Warriors and help us out with local promotion.
